The Great Delusion

Over the span of a few weeks I’ve come across two news stories celebrating child drag queens. Yes, you read that correctly; I said, “child drag queens.” On top of these alarming headlines, I am sure you’re familiar with the legislation recently passed in New York that permits a woman to have a late-term abortion, even when nearing childbirth under certain circumstances. 

With violence and perversion toward children now being celebrated by mainstream America, it seems we’ve crossed over into a brave new world—one where anything goes, nothing’s off limits, and morality depends on personal preference. This new world is making such progressive leaps that we’re killing babies in the name of convenience and sexualizing kids at ripe young ages.

Sacrificing the Children

Violence toward the most innocent among us is not a new phenomenon. The Old Testament introduces the Canaanite god, Moloch, who assured financial prosperity to his devoted followers. Worshipping Moloch integrated perverted sexual rituals in hopes of a productive future. These depraved acts climaxed with worshippers sacrificing their firstborn in the flames of Moloch’s belly. This is referred to in scripture as “passing children through the fire” (Lev. 18:21; 2 Kings 23:10; Jer. 32:35).

Moloch is depicted as having the head of a bull and the body of a man. Images portray his arms stretched forth as a sign of receiving the sacrifices of his admirers. Fire burned in a hole in his abdomen where infants would be placed and burned alive. Many well-intentioned parents sacrificed their firstborn believing that Moloch would safeguard their financial futures—the primary reason babies are aborted today. 

Devotion to Moloch was widespread in the ancient world. This religious practice became popular throughout Canaan, North Africa, and even made its way to Greece where the legend of Moloch grew powerfully among the Grecian gods. The cult of Moloch was so prevalent in ancient Middle Eastern culture that even the Israelites were allured into these pagan rituals. God often warned His people of the consequences of sacrificing their children to this demonic deity (Lev. 20:2-3).

Sadly, not much has changed. In 21^stcentury progressive America, we sacrifice children on the altar of expediency and future prosperity every single day. New altars are being assembled all the time, as our laws quickly trend toward sacrificing babies after birth if they’re deemed too burdensome. 

Although today’s altars aren’t finely crafted iron statues of the bull-man himself, Moloch’s spirit reigns nonetheless. These new altars are equipped with stirrups that allow modern-day pagan priests to defile the sacredness of the womb with shears, syringes, and curettes. This ritual offers the hope of future stability, as participants sacrifice their children before they even have a chance to take their first breath. 

Make no mistake, Moloch has made his way across the ocean and discovered America to truly be the land of opportunity. He is pleased to find so many followers eager to bow down to his promise of immediate convenience and future prosperity. However, it doesn’t stop there.

Sexualizing the Children

In progressive America, not only do we sacrifice kids on demand, we also prepare the ones that make it to thrive as open-minded individuals. We teach them to be true to their innermost desires. In an effort to free children from the oppression of social constructs, we open them up to the ultimate discovery of themselves at the youngest age possible. 

We teach our little boys to dress like little girls and our little girls to dress like little boys. We want them to pay close attention to how they feel on the inside, as that’s really what matters most. One way we accomplish this is by inviting men dressed up as women to read to the kids during story time in our public schools and libraries (video link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cZliG1YBROE). 

We want children to be free of the unreasonable realities imposed on them by our repressive culture. Therefore, we teach them that human value is based primarily on sexual expression. We encourage them to explore whether or not they’re comfortable being a girl or a boy. If they feel awkward in their own skin, we tell them they don’t have to be either, as gender is merely a social construct. Furthermore, there are far more than two genders that could be assigned to any individual. 

In preparing children to be responsible adolescents we also create instructional videos teaching them how to use sex toys and masturbate before they reach puberty (video link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-0vPqxSVaG4&t=183s). We want them to express themselves sexually as early as possible. The sky is the limit as to where a child’s capacity for understanding their sexuality will take “her” or “him” in this age of enlightenment—forgive the pronouns.

I wish I were joking; though I am not. Beyond child sacrifice being culturally acceptable, now the gender fluidity of children is making headlines in mainstream America. Moreover, it is being celebrated as “courageous.” 

ABC News recently featured “Desmond the Drag Kid” on Good Morning America. The 11-year-old boy strutted out to the loud cheers of the studio audience dressed in full drag (video link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JxdvOLdG_34). This is the same 11-year-old kid that danced on stage in a gay bar while grown men threw money at him a few months earlier (video link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=majcQ54vlDs). The drag community celebrates Desmond as a trailblazer. 

Then there is the story of ten-year-old “Queen Lactacia.” His real name is Nemis Quinn Mélançon-Golden (video link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7k-h0JE8x20). Although this story broke in Canada, the cultural impact is the same. Nemis was recently photographed dressed in full drag for Huck Magazine. In one photo the ten-year-old is posing with a nude man named, Violet Chachki, the Season 7 winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race. In the photo, Violet (a grown man) is wearing nothing but a pair of heels and a small piece of fabric covering his genitals. 

There was a time when allowing a child to dance for money in a gay bar would’ve been considered child abuse. There was a time when posing nude with a ten-year-old would’ve led to being arrested as a sexual predator. Those days are no more. At the rate we’re going it won’t be long before they’ll have children doing a lot more than dancing in gay bars and posing for pictures with nude men.

Great Price to Pay

I hurt over this, literally. Writing about it makes me nauseous. I type these words with tears in my eyes. The damage being inflicted on the most innocent among us is agonizing. If it breaks my heart, imagine how God must feel as we “pass our children through the flames.”

Large segments of society stand by idly as infant life becomes disposable and child perversion mainstream. We’ve opened Pandora’s Box. Sooner than later nothing will be off limits to people’s sensual appetites. Sounds like a familiar biblical story that ended in a firestorm. 

There will be a great price to pay for sacrificing our children on the altar of hedonism. Western society will pay for its unwillingness to protect the most innocent of our residents. Jesus warned that it would be better to have a millstone tied around your neck and be cast into the sea than to allow what we’ve allowed to take place in this country (Matthew 18:6).

Sadly, the spirit of this decadent society has also invaded segments of the church. Spellbound by the great delusion, we’ve become comfortable in our present state. In our efforts to remain relevant, we’ve learned to speak the language of culture so well that we can’t distinguish truth clearly anymore.

The subliminal influence of Moloch has us by the throat. Fear of repercussion sways us to remain neutral. Anxious that church attendance and giving might be negatively affected, we feel the need to balance our message with great civility. Afraid of being accused of hate crimes or ending up in court, we mostly say nothing at all. 

It is past time to move away from trendy sermon presentations that use pop-cultural references to connect with people. It is time to tear down the altars of religious entertainment and consumerism. We need brave pulpiteers and unwavering followers of Jesus who are willing to proclaim truth that brings freedom in the face of evil. 

Under the seduction of progress, many have grown indifferent toward that which breaks the heart of God. There is no turning back short of another great awakening. If the church doesn’t wake up and start being the church, it too will pay a price for its lukewarm posture toward the violence and perversion being imposed on our children. 

Lord, have mercy.
